You know Abandoned, ce survival-horror developped by Blue Box Game Studios, a curious Dutch studio founded by Hasan Kahraman. The title had been revealed via the blog PlayStation (where you just have to pay to appear) and the players had seen there possible links to Hideo Kojima (Metal Gear) and the deductible Silent Hill.
But since, it’s a succession of disappointments for the fanswith a Realtime Experience missed: an empty application, only including a teaser of a few seconds, we are still waiting for the first real trailer and the demo, which will in fact be and Prologue fee used to finance the development ofAbandoned. But finally, better stop waiting.
GameSpot has just published a long article, produced following feedback from fans apparently present in a private discussion group with Hasan Kahraman. And it’s quite staggering, the players speak of a group that has become increasingly toxic, where the founder of Blue Box Game Studios would share media fromAbandonedannouncing that it was fakes to test their loyalty. Members describe Hasan as a person who changes personality quickly, who can become violently angry if criticized and come back to apologize right after. There are also mentions of defrauded partners, including an artist with whom Hasan had an intimate relationship and who was to make theartwork from Platinum Trophy of the game: the founder would have promised him last March to visit him within two months when he would be free (so when the development of the Prologue would be finished), but that would have given nothing, and the artist would now have no more news. Hasan also reportedly contacted a fan in the United States, promising to pay him $1,500 to store physical copies of Abandoned for a trip across the Atlantic, but that also came to nothing. Height of toxicity, the members of the private group evoke an evening where one of them, aged 12, would have invited another to commit suicide during a voice call on PlayStation Party, and Hasan would not have reacted. Besides, he would spend more time playing Rainbow Six Siege and listening to the fans put him on a pedestal than developing his Prologue so anticipated. But these members would have long hesitated to speak out, the fault of a non-disclosure agreement signed when joining the group, a contract written in a very amateurish way and with faults, as Hasan can do in his press releases.
As for the game itself, it’s the same mess. Abandoned would not exist, Hasan Kahraman would wait to publish the Prologue to get money and start producing the survival-horrorgone through several concepts: a man lost in a forest against a sect, an action and spy game Metal Gear Solidan action game with vampires a little too inspired by Resident Evilthen a return to the first idea… Images leak regularly, impossible to know if they are real visuals or montages created by Hasan, with for example an image displaying a logo Silent Hill 5. The studio founder would then follow the same routine: he would shout at fake publicly, then go in search of the member of the private group behind the leakwould fire it and admit to others that the image was real. Fans of the band now refer to the game as Wallbandonedbecause Hasan almost only shares pictures of walls.
Ghost game, designer with toxic and questionable behavior, Abandoned has only been talked about badly for monthsyou might as well put it aside until you have something concrete: it will probably not be gameplaybut the sad truth behind Blue Box Game Studiosalready known for its canceled games… GameStop finally specify that PlayStation did not respond to his solicitations, while Hasan declined to comment on anything.
