“A seasonal weather with pleasant temperatures but it will also be necessary to take into account some rainy-stormy periods”, summarizes Luc Trullemans in his weekly post. Here are his full predictions. By Sudinfo Published on 08/11/2023 at 12:00

Our regions are located this Friday between an anticyclone centered on central Europe which sends us air from the south of France, and a depression which approaches the northwest of the British Isles and which commands an active cold front accompanied by rain and thunderstorms over Brittany and Normandy.

This front will already give a lot of clouds this Friday morning over Flanders and western Hainaut while it will still be sunny from the center to the Ardennes.

It will be hot with highs of 26 to 30° in the plain, about 25° on the high Ardennes plateaus but only 21 to 23° in the coastal region where a breeze will blow from southwest to west with peaks of 30- 40 km/h.

An isolated storm is not excluded at the end of the day south of the Sambre and Meuse furrow.

The sky will cloud over during the night and showers or thunderstorms will appear everywhere from the French border. These may be locally strong with a lot of rain in a short time.

SATURDAY

The stormy and rainy zone will leave the country in the middle of the day and will be followed by variable skies with clearings which will be very beautiful on the coast.

It will also be less hot with morning temperatures of 15 to 20° and afternoons of 20 to 25°. The southwest wind will be sensitive everywhere with peaks of 30-40 km / h.

Sunday

The depression that will have arrived west of Scotland will send us a relatively mild sea current from south to south-west from the Bay of Biscay with daytime temperatures close to normal for the season, i.e. between 21 and 26°.

The sky will be mixed in the interior of the country but brighter towards the sea.

Monday

With a small stormy low pressure core which will evolve in the flow from the south-west of central France towards the Benelux, we will be entitled to heavy and humid weather with temperatures rising between 22 and 28°.

Showers will appear almost everywhere under a very changeable sky and thunderstorms are to be feared in the afternoon in the south and east of the country.

Tuesday and Wednesday

The atmosphere should stabilize somewhat with the arrival of an anticyclone over the British Isles.

This one will gradually send us an increasingly continental air coming from northern Germany with initially rather variable conditions becoming brighter on Wednesday.

Note maximum temperatures of 20 to 23° by the sea and in the upper Ardennes and very pleasant 24 to 27° in the plain.

Evolution for the rest of the week and the following weekend

The high pressure area will move further north towards the Norwegian Sea and Scandinavia.

This situation will put us in a fairly warm continental current from east to southeast in which heat storms can develop.

In other words, the weather will remain hot and sometimes heavy with thunderstorms which may break out especially in the interior of the country and sometimes even overflow into the coastal region.

The highs will remain at a good level for the season with values between 22 and 29° depending on the region.

Likely further trend

For the week of August 21-27, the summer weather is expected to continue with a decline in the stormy trend. Temperatures will initially be 23 to 29 degrees and then decrease to between 21 and 26 degrees.

From August 28 to September 3

The hot summer weather should still continue but without great heat. The sun will prevail and the temperatures, although above normal, will be much more bearable. Note that you will have to be wary of a risk of thunderstorms, especially in the Ardennes.
