The 52-year-old actress shared a video of herself, taken in January 2023 during a radiotherapy session. We see her with tears in her eyes wearing a mask that covers almost all of her face.
“On January 5, my scan revealed the presence of metastases in my brain,” she revealed in the caption of her post.
“My fear is undeniable. I’m extremely claustrophobic and a lot has happened in my life. I’m lucky to have great doctors […] But that fear…the restlessness…the moment it all happened…this is what cancer can look like,” she added.
“I can’t realize”
Shannen Doherty was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015. After undergoing numerous chemotherapy sessions, she was revealed to be in remission in 2017, before announcing a relapse three years later, in 2020.
“I’m at stage 4. So my cancer is back. I don’t think I can realize. It’s a bitter pill and very hard to swallow, for a lot of reasons,” she told the time with emotion on the set of the show “Good Morning America”.
In addition to her illness, the actress also revealed in April 2023 that she was divorcing her husband, Kurt Iswarienko, after 11 years of marriage. “The only people who deserve to be in your life are those who treat you with love, kindness and respect,” she shared on social media.
