After a bloody act against an ex-brother-in-law: murder trial in Steyr against a 37-year-old

The man is accused of killing his ex-brother-in-law in March in Grünburg (Kirchdorf district) with two shots from a legally owned handgun, the court said in a press release on Monday. The jury trial is scheduled for the entire day.

The defendant and three witnesses will be questioned, and a forensic and a psychiatric expert will have their say. The 37-year-old had already confessed during the police interview after the crime. The motive he gave was that he feared that his nephew and niece, the children of his sister with the murder victim, would become like their father. After the crime, the man fled in his car to his home address in the Amstetten district. He was arrested there.
