Trombone Champ, a new downloadable video game, allows you to accompany great pieces of jazz and classical music with the trombone. The exercise promises to be much more complicated than we imagine and the hiccups on Mozart, Beethoven or Schubert are the delight of social networks which relay very approximate services.

15 years later Guitar Hero, the successful online game that had sparked guitarist vocations for tens of thousands of gamers, a new format, dedicated to the trombone, is creating a buzz. The principle of Trombone Champ (trombone champion), put on sale since September 15 is simple, it is a question of accompanying twenty great pieces of jazzmen (Al Grey, Glenn Miller…) and classical music (Johannes BrahmsClaude Debussy, WA Mozart, Franz Schubert…). The services are graded directly, with ratings ranging from Nasty (Bad) to Perfecto, passing by Meh (Bof), Nice or OK, in order to gain ranks in this virtual championship. If the appearance of the game, very kitsch and colorful, and its playful and addictive use, very quickly attracted online players, it was above all the hiccups and false notes of gamers broadcast on social networks that made the success of Trombone Champ. It rose from its first week of marketing in the 30 best sales of online video games. The creator of Trombone Champ never played this instrument

This success which surprised the video game world, starting with the creator of the game, developer for Holy Wow, the independent studio which created and distributes the game. Asked by the NBC News channel, Dan Vecchitto indicated that he is developing games out of passion and hobby, and… that he never played the trombone. Trombone Champ is available on PC for 12.49 euros and a version for Mac is in preparation.
