The Public Prosecution ordered the release of the actress, Menna Shalaby, after her interrogation, after she was arrested at Cairo International Airport, returning from abroad, in possession of materials suspected of being drugs, and a report of investigations had been received about the incident, if she paid a financial guarantee of fifty thousand pounds, according to the newspaper, “The Seventh Day”. And the Egyptian newspaper added that the Egyptian Public Prosecution had received a notification this afternoon to arrest the actress, Menna Shalaby, at Cairo International Airport, upon her return from abroad, during the completion of customs procedures, and she was in possession of a number of bags containing her personal belongings, which, by placing them on the X-ray examination device, showed the presence of organic condensates inside them, so it was completed. A thorough search of her resulted in the discovery of materials suspected of being narcotics, so she was arrested and the seized materials were kept.
Today, the Public Prosecution received a report from the General Department for Narcotics Control regarding the findings of the investigations in that incident, in which it was proven that the accused had obtained these materials with the intention of using.
The Public Prosecution proceeded with the investigations, and it began with the interrogation of the accused regarding the accusation attributed to her of possession and obtaining narcotic substances with the intent to use, and she denied them.
Accordingly, the Public Prosecution ordered her release with a financial guarantee of fifty thousand pounds, and to send the seized materials in her possession to the Forensic Medicine Authority for examination and to clarify their nature and the extent to which they contain any narcotic substances, and investigations are being completed.
