The incident occurred in Aruvikara Valapetti last Sunday when Ali Akbar attacked his wife and mother, Shahira, who were sleeping at home. Shahira died on the spot after being cut, and Ali Akbar also beheaded his wife, Mumtaz, who was a school teacher. Mumtaz suffered burns all over her body and passed away while receiving treatment.
After attacking his wife and mother-in-law, Ali Akbar poured kerosene in the kitchen and set it on fire, causing neighbors to hear the screams of his daughter. The police received information about the family dispute between Ali Akbar and Mumtaz, which had been ongoing in the family court for ten years.
