After the A’s, make way for the M’s: Samsung unveils the Galaxy M54, cousin of the A54

A week after unveiling the newcomers to the Galaxy A range, Samsung is giving it a layer. THE palestinian website of the company has just lifted the veil on a new model of the Galaxy M family, the M54. A version that looks a lot like the Galaxy A54.

If it is very similar to the new mid-range from South Korea, it does not share the entire technical sheet. Thus, the Galaxy M54 has a 6.7-inch Super Amoled panel, with a definition of 2400 x 1080 and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. Inside, it is powered by an Exynos 1380 processor coupled to 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage. A 6000 mAh battery is allocated to it, but the charging capacity is not specified. We can easily assume that it relies on a fast charge at 25 W.

On the photo side, the smartphone offers a main module of 108 megapixels, which is its specificity. This definition is indeed much higher than the 50 megapixels offered on the Galaxy A54, but in return, its ultra wide-angle module is content with 8 megapixels instead of the 12 Mpx of the Galaxy A54. Obviously, higher definition does not rhyme with better quality, but it will be interesting to compare the two models on this point.

For the rest, the Galaxy M54 runs on Android 13 as well as OneUI 5.1. The chassis is made of plastic, unlike the A54 which has a glass back, like the flagships of the Galaxy S range. No release date is available, if the latter is ultimately confirmed. But as with the previous models of the M family, it is not excluded that we will see the M54 land discreetly on the Samsung site, or directly on Amazon.
