Pakinam, the eldest daughter of Ramzy, revealed that after his death, she opened her father’s mobile, and only found the numbers of Faten Hamama, Omar Sharif, Hisham Selim and Ahmed El Sakka on it, and this indicates that the great artist had a strong friendship relationship only with these stars.
The relationship between Ahmed Ramzy and Omar Sharif was very dramatic, their acquaintance began since high school, and lasted for 60 years, and Omar Sharif was credited with turning Ramzy’s dream of acting into reality.
One day, they were together playing billiards at the Cairo Club, and Omar Sharif had started his artistic career, and while they were there, director Helmy Halim entered into an agreement with Sharif to star in the movie “Our Sweet Days.” The great director did not think much at the time, and assigned him a role in the film with his friend Omar Sharif and the new face at the time, Abdel Halim Hafez.
Omar described this friendship, saying: “Ramzy was next to me all the time, we were friends who were very understanding, and outside of filming dates, Ramzy would come to our house, stay with me and Faten, or go out to stay up anywhere.”
As for his relationship with Ahmed Al-Saqqa, the latter had a strong relationship with Ramzy, as he is the only one who attended the burial ceremony of Ahmed Ramzy, buried him with his hand, and carried out his will.
During his artistic career, Ramzy presented 113 works of art, most of which characterize the roles of the handsome young man with a light shade, and in 1975 he presented the films “Madness of Youth” and “Love in the Rain”, then decided to move away for several years until he returned again through the movie “Hekayat” Behind every door, then he disappeared again, and returned to the cinema in 1995 through the movie “Desert Cat.” In 2000, he participated in the movie “The Red Rose” and the series “Moon Face”, and his last work was the series “Hanan and Hanin.” In 2007 with his old friend, the artist Omar Sharif, to disappear again until his dramatic death.
