“The military cooperation agreement between the Government of Morocco and the Government of the Gabonese Republic, signed in Rabat on February 7, 2018, was a new milestone on the path to strengthening ties between our two countries in this area. This agreement, which has formalized bilateral cooperation in the military field, aims to further promote and strengthen this cooperation in various aspects, including in particular education and training, the exchange of experience and expertise, participation in military exercises, the exchange of trainers, instructors and military trainees, as well as military medicine, to name but a few. This instrument is therefore open to increased collaboration, and we are all called upon to use its content to give more vigor to bilateral military cooperation and ultimately serve the interests of our two countries, in accordance with the will and to the high directives of our two Heads of State, His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, and his brother, His Excellency Ali Bongo Ondimba,” said Abdellah Sbihi.
“The frank and rich collaboration that exists between our respective armies is a perfect illustration of this. I would like to recall, in this perspective, that Morocco has granted the Republican Guard 38 training places for the 2021-2022 academic year. These places concerned in particular higher defense courses, advanced and application courses, as well as specific courses. Trainees who returned in 2021 came back with their sesame. Once again, dear interns, congratulations! The hardest part begins, because it is now for each of you to put into practice the various teachings in order to improve your military and professional performance which may have made your career successful. My congratulations also go to the lucky recipients of the Republican Guard’s recognition medal. To His Excellency the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Morocco, I reiterate on behalf of the President of the Republic, Head of State, our heartfelt thanks for this active cooperation”, affirmed, for his part, Félicité Ongouori Ngoubili , Gabonese Defense Minister.
Honor to the flags and review of the troops were, among other things, the highlights of this graduation ceremony organized by the command-in-chief of the Republican Guard. Whether it is the Moroccan ambassador or the Gabonese Minister of Defence, the two authorities have a convergence of view on the excellence of relations between their two countries.
It is recalled that military cooperation is one of the pillars of bilateral relations between Morocco and Gabon, with several generations and promotions of soldiers trained in the Kingdom, whether as part of initial training or short courses.
