The newspaper indicated that the Saudi Al-Ittihad club is ready to pay Messi 94 million dollars annually in exchange for playing for him.
The newspaper quoted sports journalist Joan Fontes that the Saudi club had informally contacted Messi’s inner circle to express interest in him.
According to the newspaper, the federation is seeking to compensate for its failure to persuade the Brazilian Ronaldo to join him, in 2007, when he was heading out of Real Madrid.
