Ahmedabad blasts: Executioned Malayalee twin brothers trained in Vagamon

Kottayam: Two Malayalee brothers, who were sentenced to death by a special court in the Ahmedabad serial blasts case, were trained in Vagamon.

The NIA had found that Shibili and Shaduli had participated in an arms training camp conducted by the banned organization Students’ Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) in Thangalpara, Vagamon.

The investigation revealed that the accused had received training to carry out the blast at the Vagamon SIMI camp ahead of the Ahmedabad blasts. The agency found that 45 people attended the camp, which ran from December 9 to 12, 2007.

The mastermind of the Ahmedabad serial blasts, among others, were present at the camp in Vagamon. According to the chargesheet, Shibili and Shaduli provided accommodation and vehicles to the campers. Apart from them, Sharafuddin, a native of Kondotty, has also been sentenced to death in the serial blasts case. Another Malayalee, Mohammad Ansar from Aluva, was sentenced to life imprisonment.
