AirTag Helps Family Recover Stolen Bike in California

A family from Orange County, Californiamanaged to recover an electric bicycle valued at US$3,000 with the help of a AirTag. the victim was Johnny Ehrman, who was at work when the theft took place. Unfortunately, she only realized the criminal action when she left the company.

Still according to Ehrman, the pedals and the rear wheel were locked and she had removed the battery from the vehicle. However, the bicycle was not attached to anything – thus allowing the object to be taken. Luckily, the victim had attached an AirTag to the bike.

The first thing Ehrman did, she says, was call the police. However, unhappy with the corporation’s performance, the young woman tracked the bike and saw that the AirTag was still in motion. Shortly thereafter, the vehicle stopped at a condominium near the family home. It was Ehrman and her father’s chance to go after the stolen property.

Father and daughter then went to the thief’s house and confronted him, taking back the object that had been stolen. When contacted, the Orange County Police Department said in a statement that residents should not put their lives in danger trying to recover stolen items.

Police, however, did not disclose the identity of the suspect, nor whether he had been arrested.
