No press conference after the consultation committee meeting this Friday afternoon: there was hardly any debate. Asked by RTBF, the Prime Minister, Alexander De Croo, wants to be confident: “The summer is looking pretty good, we will have a carefree summer.“
The mask disappears everywhere, except in hospitals, at the doctor’s and in pharmacies. The Prime Minister appeals to the common sense of citizens: “If you go, for example, to a nursing home, it is recommended to keep a lot of caution and maybe still keep the mask on if you are in front of someone who is vulnerable.“

All eyes are now on fall. It is known that the virus has regained vigor at the time of leaf fall. Alexandre De Croo indicates that Belgium is preparing “the elements of defense“against Covid-19: “We learned a lot about what is useful or not. We will follow the situation very carefully during the months of September and October.”
Thus, the analysis is in progress on the advisability, or not, of proposing a new booster campaign for vaccinated people, in the fall: “PAt the moment, the usefulness is not yet clear, experts are looking into the matter. If it turns out that it is necessary to guarantee a normal life, during the fall, it is clear that we will start a new vaccination campaign.”
Same thought for the Covid safe ticket: is it still a necessary tool? It is up to the Minister of Health and the experts, this summer, to see things clearly.
