(Archyde.com) – European traders said on Sunday that the professional grain office in Algeria has issued an international tender for the purchase of soft flour wheat for supply from optional origins.

The tender asked for a nominal quantity of 50 thousand tons, but Algeria usually buys in its tenders much more than the required nominal quantities.

The deadline for submitting quotes is Tuesday, January 17th, with offers remaining valid until Wednesday, January 18th.

The wheat is required for shipment during two periods from the main supplying countries, including Europe, the first between March 1 and March 15 and the second between March 15 and 31. In the event that the origin is from South America or Australia, the shipment will be a month before that.

Algeria is an important buyer of wheat from the European Union, especially France.
