Alicia Moffet, 25, opened up in particular about her separation from the father of her daughter, Alex Mentink, on the microphone of the podcast Open your game by Marie-Claude Barrette.
“My daughter doesn’t remember her father and me together. I’m happy, because I have the impression that if I had waited longer, she would have seen some arguments,” confided the singer and influencer who took her first steps as a host in the last season ofOccupation Double alongside her lover Frédérick Robichaud.
His daughter Billie Lou was two and a half years old at the time of the breakup. “My mentality, when I left her father, was that I didn’t want my daughter to grow up thinking that that was love. I couldn’t let her grow up in there,” explained Alicia Moffet.
In December 2021, the breakup was made public. “It was entertainment for the people. I was 23, I was a baby. I had a child at 20 years old… I leave the father of my child in pain and misery, and I have to live it in front of thousands of people who tap me on the head…”, stressed Alicia Moffet with emotion.
“I assume I left with someone else. I know what I did or didn’t do. (…) I am also able to say that I regret nothing, that I am happy and that my daughter has a beautiful relationship with this man, and with her father.
“I won’t be embarrassed to tell my daughter.”
Alicia Moffet also returned to her meeting with her lover, the entrepreneur Frédérick Robichaud, who was also a candidate for Occupation Double, with whom she has been a couple for several years. “He’s exactly the dream man I described to my friends.”
“I met him when I was still in a relationship. I met him in a bar. The next two weeks I was very tormented. Being in a relationship that wasn’t going well for a long time, I was like, “Oh my god.” I really had a crush on Fred.”
The artist also recounted his dilemma: “Do I choose stability, comfort in a relationship that is not going well? Or am I losing the chance to have something that fulfills me, that makes me happy, and that will take me somewhere else?
“It’s scary. I had a house, my ex was my manager. We had everything together. It was so scary to make this decision that may have seemed easy to many, but was heartbreaking.”
