In the affair surrounding Viennese allotment gardens, which were purchased by SP politicians at extremely reasonable prices, there are currently investigations against three people, as the Vienna public prosecutor’s office has announced. In three other cases, a project report was forwarded to the public prosecutor’s office. ÖVP, Greens and FPÖ demanded clarification from the mayor’s party.
The issue is that SP officials should own parcels of land that have increased in value through reallocation. Among other things, it is about a purchase that the district boss of the Danube city, Ernst Nevrivy (SP), made in 2020 in a facility in Breitenlee. In 2021, the property was reclassified as building land – which led to him being accused of benefiting from the change. Before Nevrivy, some SP politicians have already purchased plots there.
Nevrivy’s lawyer confirmed on Friday that his client was under investigation. He behaved 100 percent correctly. We have complete trust in the judiciary.
The Viennese VP club boss Markus Wölbitsch accused the SP of trying to “let grass grow over the matter”. He demanded that Mayor Michael Ludwig (SP) submit the internal audit report.
For the Green leadership duo Judith Pühringer and Peter Kraus, it is high time for the justice system to “drain the red allotment swamp”. FP club chairman Maximilian Krauss also called for “full clarification,” for whom it is clear that the SP “cheated endlessly.”
