Concert, sound and light show, and fireworks punctuated the festivities of July 21, Friday evening, in the Parc du Cinquantenaire in Brussels. Several Belgian artists passed on the stage set up under the famous arcades, one eye turned towards the platform where the royal family had taken their place. All of them sent a short note to the sovereign in two languages, congratulating him on his ten years of reign.
Also invited during the concert rehearsals the days before July 21, King Philippe had the opportunity to play the piano with the orchestra, backstage. And he amazed everyone with his talent! Last year, King Philippe tried his hand at the drums during the national holiday. After following the rhythm of Queen’s “We will Rock you”, the king even ended with a small solo which delighted the crowd.
