Amazon billionaire founder Jeff Bezos said in an interview with CNN that he plans to donate most of his wealth while he is alive. Jeff Bezos, the world’s fourth richest man, hopes his donations will be put to good use. Bezos did not say if he intended to give up most of his fortune as part of the “Giving Pledge” initiative launched by Americans Warren Buffett and Bill Gates in 2010.

Jeff Bezos also owns the “Washington Post” daily, “Blue Origin” space industries and the “Bezos Earth Fund” dedicated to the planet, which was launched by the billionaire in 2020 allocating him to ten billion dollars.

The entrepreneur wants to ensure that his donations are used in the best possible way. “We are strengthening the capabilities” needed to do this, he said during the interview, in which he appeared alongside his partner, Lauren Sanchez.

This is the first time that the 58-year-old businessman has made a similar statement publicly. In his speech, Bezos did not mention “The Giving Pledge”, an initiative launched by Americans Warren Buffett and Bill Gates in 2010 and aimed at encouraging millionaires to donate more than half of their wealth to charities.

And MacKenzie Scott, Bezos’s ex-wife, who has an estimated fortune of $24 billion, had previously pledged to donate at least half of her fortune to charity, by signing “The Giving Pledge” in 2019, shortly after her divorce.

In early 2021, Scott donated $6 billion to various organizations without imposing any conditions on her contribution.
