Immediately after the organization of the poultry exhibition and the announcement of the New Feed Price Increase, the National Association of Chicken Breeders in Morocco asked fodder companies to review feed prices, especially after the fall in the prices of imported raw materials.
The association said in a statement that “after a long absence, the Professional Federation of the Poultry Sector organized the poultry fair in Casablanca on October 25-26-27, 2022, under crisis conditions characterized by a huge price increase. chicken, which has affected the budget of the average citizen, and the reason for this high cost is due to the outrageous rise in the prices of compound fodder and the lack of necessary quality”.
The association added that it is surprising that the feed companies did not wait long after the end of the exhibition days to offer us another increase in feed prices in a unified way without respecting the rules of the competition, and this is the best gift that the exhibition offers to the breeders”.
Before the opening of this exhibition, the National Association of Broiler Chicken Breeders, at the request of a group of breeders, organized a protest vigil in front of the Ministry of Agriculture. Despite all the desperate attempts to obstruct this vigil, it was successful in the presence of herders from various regions. After that, the National Assembly drafted a memorandum to the ministry of wills containing the basic demands (the cost of fodder, its declining quality, non-compliance with the laws governing the sector, support for breeders and the opening of dialogue with the association.
With regard to the exhibition, the association says that it did not know the expected success because the attendance rate was very low, since it was visited by less than a thousand people (1000) out of approximately (10 000) breeders, as the President of the Federation officially declared (FISA), despite the provision of transport and the temptations to deal with food and overnight, which shows that the percentage of the province was very high among breeders, so this exhibition did not achieve the expected results.
