Amazon Unveils Echo Show 16 With Fire TV and Custom Screen Styles

Amazon debuted its massive Echo Show 16 alongside a sweeping hardware refresh on Wednesday, offering a 16-inch smart display with Fire TV, custom Screen Styles, and an optional Nanomatte screen starting at $499.99 ahead of a December shipment window.

Amazon has revamped its smart home lineup with five new devices and a new smart home feature, setting up a direct showroom floor clash against rival hardware. The retail giant rolled out preorders for the new lineup on Wednesday, aiming directly at late-year shoppers just weeks before Apple brings its own smart-home screen to store shelves.

Echo Show 16 Brings a 16-Inch Display and Custom Screen Styles

The headliner of the release is the Echo Show 16, a 16-inch smart display engineered to act as an all-seeing command center for property management. The hardware features an anodized aluminum frame that resembles a tablet, with a slim profile that measures nearly 40 percent slimmer than the Echo Show 15.

When compared directly against the previous generation, the new display packs 10 percent more viewing area, a frame that is nearly 40 percent thinner, 20 percent more computing power, and a 13-megapixel camera equipped with night vision and the widest field of view of any Echo Show.

Users can cycle through three distinct Screen Styles to alter the purpose of the device: a smart home hub dashboard, a family organizer with color-coded schedules and meal plans, or a digital photo frame. The interface also integrates a full Fire TV experience.

Pricing, Display Options, and Stand Accessories

The standard Echo Show 16 retails for $499.99. For buyers looking to mitigate glare, Amazon offers a Nanomatte display option for $569.99. The company introduced an introductory preorder discount taking $100 off MSRP ahead of its official release later this year.

Mounting choices extend beyond the included wall mount. Buyers can purchase a static stand for $69.99 or an adjustable swivel-and-tilt stand for $124.99.

Expanding Smart Home Maps

The software experience introduces the new Alexa Home Map feature, designed to let users virtually map their living spaces room by room to control all of their smart devices room by room.

A Camera-Equipped Echo Studio and Specialized Bedside Clocks

Amazon also updated several audio and bedroom products, introducing a camera to its flagship speaker line and rolling out dedicated sleep-tracking equipment.

Device Price Key Features
Echo Dot $99.99 Built-in smart home hub, Eero Wi-Fi extender
Echo Studio with Home Camera $249.99 Onboard camera, Advanced Room Adaptation, Dolby Atmos
Echo Time $199.99 Camera-free nightstand clock, sleep sensing
Alexa Photo Frame $199.99 – $229 10-inch display, Amazon Photos integration

The Echo Studio with Home Camera marks the first time Amazon has embedded a lens into the Echo Studio. Priced at $249.99, it includes physical privacy buttons to shut off microphones and cameras, alongside Advanced Room Adaptation. Meanwhile, the $99.99 Echo Dot inherits a built-in smart home hub, while doubling as an Eero Wi-Fi extender adding up to 1,000 square feet of coverage.

For the bedroom, the $199.99 Echo Time omits a camera entirely. It relies on technology to monitor breathing and movement patterns during sleep without requiring a wearable tracker, and sounding gentle tones to ease sleepers awake.

Product Lineup and Availability

The hardware rollout spans multiple device categories, with Amazon’s Senior Vice President of Devices and Services, Panos Panay, leading the presentation in New York. Panay noted that people are cooking with Alexa five times more than ever, and listening to music three times more than before.

Among the newly announced units, the Echo Show 16 represents the high-end tier as a comprehensive smart home hub. It includes an anodized aluminum frame that sits nearly 40 percent slimmer than its predecessor, accompanied by an upgraded audio system packing eight woofers and two tweeters. The standard model is priced at $499.99, while the Nanomatte display variant costs $569.99. Preorders are open now with shipments scheduled to begin later in the year.

The Echo Studio with Home Camera arrives at $249.99, representing a $30 price increase over the standard Echo Studio model. The camera unit enables Live View checks, face recognition for personalized conversations, and integration with Ring cameras. In the future, users will be able to pair the Echo Studio with Home Camera and a Fire TV device to manage video calls on a larger display, though no specific release date has been set for that integration.

For nightstand use, the Echo Time introduces a spherical design featuring a 3.2-inch circular touchscreen with hundreds of customizable clock faces. The standard model is available in Graphite, Glacier White, and Coral Pink for $199.99. A specialized Amazon Kids Echo Time version is offered in Galactic Grape and Cosmic Lime designs for $209.99, which includes a one-year bundle of Amazon Kids+. Similar kid-friendly variants for the Echo Dot, styled in Octopus and Penguin designs, start at $109.99.

Rounding out the ecosystem, the Alexa Photo Frame is designed to mimic a traditional picture frame rather than a standard smart display. It features a 10-inch semi-matte anti-glare touchscreen that syncs directly with Amazon Photos. The black finish starts at $199.99, while variants featuring real birch or walnut wood frames cost $229. The device omits standard smart home controls and video playback features, focusing entirely on displaying curated images organized by person, time, and sentiment.
