“An apology is not enough,” says Paneiyalios | Third National: News, Results, Ratings – 2024-03-04 16:56:43

An announcement about the refereeing of the match with AER Afantou was issued by Paneiyalios, which reads as follows:

“Standing tactic of Paneiyalio G.S. is not to deal with the refereeing and especially with its representatives who show an inability to handle games of the 3rd National Team.

But for the second time this year, we cannot help but complain about the ridiculousness that occurred in our team’s game with AER Afantou, in the context of the 25th matchday, without of course wanting to present it as an absolute justification for our defeat.
In the delays of the first half, the referee P. Konstantinidis of the association of Western Attica sent off with a red card the striker of our team Vangelis Makris for allegedly hitting an opponent in an aerial “duel”, despite our justified protests for a wrong decision.

At the break, however, when a representative of our team and the footballer asked the referee about the red card, they had another surprise. They received the “sorry my mistake” response from the referee…
Gentlemen, unfortunately VAR cannot be used in the 3rd national team and an “apology” is certainly not enough to cover the weakness of some referees and the gross injustice against us, which resulted in us being left with one less player for an entire half-time.

There was certainly tampering and even in the final minutes when we went down with a man down, offside was discovered only to be seen by the assistant and the intended home fans on the pitch.
Once again, Paneiyalios became a “victim” of the inability of the referee and his assistants to correctly assess two crucial phases for the outcome of the game.

An apology cannot correct the given injustice against us and it certainly does not convince us. We lost the right to claim on equal terms that we are entitled within the playing field, and as a result we lost.

All groups are entitled to equal treatment and unfortunately we did not have it. We hope that in the future we will not again be recipients of regret for decisions that will shape results…”.
