In the first three months of 2023, 14,160 tax audits were carried out on natural and legal person taxpayers – 10,184 on legal person taxpayers and 3,976 on natural person taxpayers. Of these, 5,710 were fiscal inspections, 5,806 documentary checks on legal and natural taxpayers and 2,644 unannounced controls on legal and natural taxpayers, in order to quantify the fiscal risk.
As a result of the tax inspections, additional amounts were established in the total amount of 612.9 million lei and the tax loss was reduced by the amount of 1,889.7 million lei. Following the documentary checks, additional amounts totaling 115.3 million lei were established. At the same time, as a result of fiscal control actions, 432 fines were imposed in the total amount of 1.3 million lei, a number of 63 reports were submitted to the criminal investigation bodies for a total damage of 61.3 million lei, 54 insurance measures were instituted in the amount of 79.5 million lei.
In the same period of 2023, anti-fraud control actions targeted 7,162 taxpayers, fiscal implications were quantified/estimated and contraventional sanctions were applied in the total amount of 1,121.8 million lei. Of these, 1,083.3 million lei are tax implications, and 38.5 million lei are contraventional sanctions (fines and confiscations).
Regarding the documentary verification activity, in the first quarter of 2023, 442 actions were completed, of which 359 with the issuance of tax decisions, the value of the established obligations totaling 99.4 million lei; of these, 65 documentary checks are carried out in the field of cryptocurrency transactions, the value of the additional tax claims established being 9.7 million lei.
At the same time, as a result of the control actions carried out by DGAF inspectors, in the first quarter of 2023, through voluntary compliance, additional fiscal obligations in the amount of 62.4 million lei were declared/paid by taxpayers to the general consolidated budget of the state.
