The production merges French creative roots with Japanese execution, pairing Ankama's expansive Krosmoz universe with the Tokyo-based Studio Massket. As noted by Anime News Network, the project brings together cross-cultural animation talent, featuring an opening theme song performed jointly by Hironobu Kageyama and Masami Okui.
From the Village of Brassica to the Krosmoz Universe
Set within the established lore of the Dofus franchise, the narrative centers on Welsh, a gentle young cook living a quiet life in the village of Brassica. That domestic routine shatters with the sudden arrival of the dragon Asalar and the hero Joris.
Welsh soon finds himself pulled into a high-stakes geopolitical conflict involving the formidable Queen Zabelle and her son, Shedar. According to production details, the journey forces the protagonist to make discoveries capable of rewriting his entire destiny.
Ankama Launches Multi-Language Adventure Series Releasing Weekly Episodes
The 12-part adventure kicked off with the premiere of Episode 1, titled "Mushroom Pie," closely followed by Episode 2, "Cheese Omelet," on November 6. Subsequent installments will drop every Thursday until the season finale in mid-January 2027.
To maximize accessibility for international audiences, Ankama provides audio tracks in English, French, and Japanese. Viewers can also toggle subtitles in English, French, Spanish, and Portuguese, though the global streaming release excludes Japan.
Interactive Treasure Hunts Bridge Screen and Game
Beyond standard viewing, the studio structured the release as an interactive cross-media campaign tying directly into Dofus, Dofus Retro, and Dofus Touch. Fans can harvest in-game rewards through three distinct methods distributed across the run of the series.
