The Russian soprano Anna Netrebko has long been criticized for her closeness to Putin. Concerts have already been cancelled. Now the opera star has to look for a new management.

Although the Russian-Austrian soprano officially condemns the Ukraine war, the 50-year-old has not clearly distanced herself from President Vladimir Putin. And that causes resentment.

Last year she celebrated her 50th birthday with a big gala in the Kremlin and approved the annexation of Crimea. After many of her concerts had already been canceled, Netrebko withdrew from the spotlight for the time being.

Now he reports «Spiegel» from another setback. The opera star and her management, the Berlin agency Center Stage Artist, separate. “We no longer represent Anna Netrebko,” confirms agency boss Judith Neuhoff to “Spiegel”.

No statement from Netrebko

The agency had represented the Russian opera singer worldwide. She did not want to say anything about the background or motive, not even about which party initiated the separation.

Netrebko’s profile has already been deleted on the homepage. However, her Azerbaijani husband, tenor Yusif Eyvazov, continues to appear as a client of Center Stage Artist.

The artist herself does not announce the separation on her official website. For this, their next appearances are listed. Among them at the renowned Scala in Milan and in the KKL Luzern.
