Friday April 21, 2023, Danielle Pautrel representative of the association Anosmie.org and Annabel Marie coordinator in the Orne of Planeth Patient offered a workshop in the hall of the health center Vaullegeard of Condé-en-Normandy (Calvados).

Sensory experience

For the first time, the two associations have coupled their interventions under the leadership of the coordinator of the health centerTiphaine Gree.

Installed at the entrance of the establishment, the two speakers proposed an experimental test: hold your nose, then bite into a square of chocolate, then free your nose before inhaling through your mouth.

This experience made it possible to discover what, in part, people withanosmie : ce handicap sensory which corresponds to the absence or total loss ofsmell.

The texture of chocolate is recognized in the mouth, but the sensations to recognize the taste are canceled with this removal of thesmell.

L’association anosmie.org estimates that “10% of the French population is affected by smell disorders”. This was all the more amplified with the epidemic of Covid.

Consequences of anosmia

L’association wishes to communicate on the physical, psychological and social impacts of this disease :

L’association also works in olfactory rehabilitation protocols.

Planeth patient

The Norman platform for therapeutic education is aimed at people with chronic diseases, such as asthma, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases.

On Condéit specifies that workshop cycles of 5 or 6 sessions will be set up in May-June, “on themes such as diet, the resumption of physical activity or stress management on registration at 07 50 54 65 24”

The workers are organizing a next workshop on Friday, May 5 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Saint-Georges-des-Groseillers health center
