Another magnitude 6.3 earthquake in Turkey kills hundreds

An aftershock with a magnitude of 6.3 occurred on the 20th in Turkey, which was in the midst of damage recovery from the earthquake that occurred in Turkey and Syria on the 6th.

The earthquake, which occurred 16 kilometers west-southwest of Antakya, Hatay Province, in southern Turkey, killed six people in Turkey alone.

Turkish Health Minister Faretin Koca said 294 people were injured, 18 of whom were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Minister Coca explained that 6,000 tents were sent to the area overnight for residents shocked by the aftershocks, and patients were evacuated as cracks appeared in some medical facilities that were operating after the earthquake on the 6th.

Meanwhile, the total number of deaths in Turkey and Syria due to the earthquake on the 6th exceeded 47,000 as of the 20th.
