LOS ANGELES (AP) — Anthony Davis had 27 points and 14 rebounds and the Los Angeles Lakers beat the Houston Rockets 107-97 on Saturday, who have yet to win a road game.
Austin Reaves added 18 points off the bench and LeBron James had 16 points and seven assists.
Fred VanVleet scored 22 points and Alperen Sengun added 21 points and 13 rebounds for the Rockets, who lost their third straight game and dropped their road record to 0-8.
Houston coach Ime Udoka was ejected with 8:35 left after receiving his second technical. James and Cam Reddish received technical fouls at the same time.
The Lakers dominated the paint 54-34 and their bench outscored Houston’s reserves 33-24.
Sengun scored 12 points in the third quarter, in which the Rockets beat the Lakers 28-20 and led 86-72 into the fourth quarter.
After allowing Houston to shoot 60% from the field in the first quarter, the Lakers took the helm in the second. Reaves scored 15 points and went on a 4-for-29 run, while Davis added eight points and the hosts took a 58-40 lead. VanVleet scored six straight to leave Houston trailing 60-44 at halftime.
Rui Hachimura was available for the Lakers, but did not play a week after undergoing nose surgery.
“Physically he’s fine except for his nose,” coach Darvin Ham said.
