The smartwatch market recorded a 9% growth in the third quarter of 2023 compared to the same period last year. According to data from consultancy Counterpointgrowth follows the trend of the second quarter of the year, after a moment of decline at the beginning of 2023.
A Apple’s position in the segment (market share), however, it remained the same: the company continued, in the third quarter of the year, to occupy first place, with 45% of the sector. According to the consultancy, this was Apple’s best performance in smartwatches in a third quarter, with a 7% growth in sales compared to the same period last year.
As highlighted by Counterpoint, the sales performance of Apple Watches in the third quarter of 2023 was quite positive despite the launch of the Series 9 and Ultra 2 models a little later than last year. Furthermore, the second generation SE model contributed significantly to the company’s growth in this area.
After Apple, in second place in terms of share that dominates the smartwatch market, was Samsung (com 18%), followed by HUAWEI (com 14%). While the South Korean company suffered a 19% drop in sales compared to the third quarter of 2022, the Chinese company recorded an incredible 56% increase in sales, with a 122% increase in its market share!
In the case of HUAWEI, the Chinese market was mainly responsible for the increase in sales and the company’s resurgence in this sector. At Indiathe sector also registered significant growth, especially with the brand Fire-Bolttwith the country accounting for 35% of sales of smartwatches, in addition to leading the sector of basic models, which have systems that do not allow the installation of applications and the like.
