A dispute over a simple parking space turned into a general brawl on Thursday evening in Antwerp, reports Het Laatste Nieuws. In images circulating on social networks, we can see around twenty people fighting each other with fists, sticks or even batons. Four suspects were arrested.
Antwerp police were alerted Thursday evening around 10 p.m. for a brawl taking place in Diepestraat, in the north of the port metropolis.
“When the police arrived, the situation was extremely tense. Several units were deployed to control the situation,” Wouter Bruyns, from the Antwerp area police, confirmed to HLN.
Two people were lying on the ground and showed signs of physical violence. They were taken to hospital but their lives are not in danger. Four people suspected of having participated in the brawl were arrested.
The police remained on site for some time to prevent the situation from escalating again. All people involved in the incident have a temporary or permanent address in our country.
