A Apple published a video quite different from the conventional one this week. More than a simple commercial or about a specific device, it is a kind of study session with the actress Storm Reid (“Euphoria”).
Called “Study With Me” (“Estude Comigo”), the video is 1 hour and 30 minutes long and consists of a video of the actress studying, communicating with the audience at times and actually studying for most of the production. The actress uses the so-called method Pomodorowhich provides 25-minute study sessions with 5-minute breaks in between.
In the video, there are three study sessions with the aforementioned duration and the breaks between them, in addition to there being a time counter. At first, the actress makes a presentation of the idea, but then she just studies — without communicating — using a 15-inch MacBook Air and other school materials. The idea is that people use the content to also study with Reid, taking advantage of concentration and break times.
Although she does not communicate throughout the study sessions, the video is not silent. Songs from artists such as Nite Crawler, Bloom Sky e GLOFLYall not style lo-fioften used in moments of concentration, showing that the idea is really for the video to be used by students when starting a study session.
It’s worth remembering that Reid is not only an actress, but also a student of Performing Arts and African-American Studies at the University of Southern California. The video is also used to promote the MacBook, with emphasis (in the description) on aspects such as the M2 processor, multitasking capabilities and 18h battery life.
The company also directs Internet users to its discount product website for university students, those who passed the entrance exam, parents of university students, teachers and university staff.
In any case, the video is divided into several parts, in order to facilitate its use by people who want a “study companion”. As always with Apple videos, the production was done very carefully, including varying the angles in some of the intervals.
