Perhaps one of the main innovations is the launch of Freeform. This is a new app for co-creating and working with friends and colleagues on Mac, iPad and iPhone. In essence, the user is given a universal infinite canvas space in which to add files, images, sticky notes, and other content. You can also draw with your finger in it. This is YUseful if you need to make a quick fix.

The “Sing” function in Apple Music
- A fully customizable vocal part allows you to sing a duet with a performer or solo, you can also combine both methods;
- Lyrics are even more accurately matched to the rhythm to make it easier to sing along to the music.
Lock screen
- New settings let you hide wallpapers or notifications when Always On Screen is active on iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max;
- In the Sleep widget, it has become more convenient to track data on the quality and characteristics of sleep;
- With the Medications widget, you can view reminders and quickly open your appointment schedule.
- The SharePlay feature now supports multiplayer games in Game Center, you can play with participants in a FaceTime call;
- In the Activity widget, you can check what your friends are playing and what achievements they have right on the Home screen.
Apple also announced improvements to smart home accessories. – now they connect better with iPhone and other gadgets of the company. In addition to new options, iOS 16.2 brought bug fixes, namely:
- Thanks to improved search in Messages, you can find photos by their content by entering in the search field, for example, the word “dog” or “car”, the name of a person or text;
- The Reload and Show IP setting allows Private iCloud Site users to temporarily turn off Hiding IP Address for individual sites in Safari;
- The “Participant Cursors” feature in Notes shows how other people’s pointers move when they make changes to a shared note;
- AirDrop now automatically switches to Contacts Only mode after 10 minutes to prevent unwanted content transfer requests from strangers.
- On models iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro, the Crash Recognition function has been optimized;
- Fixed an issue where some notes would not sync to iCloud after making changes.
How to install
Like all updates, the new one went through the air – it automatically appeared on the smartphone. To find it, you need to go to Settings -u003e General -u003e section “Software Update”. There you will see a suggestion to download iOS 16.2. Click on it and follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation.
