Aprilia reveals RS 660 Phillip Island tribute limited-edition bike

Aprilia has revealed the RS 660 Phillip Island Tribute, a limited-edition mid-range sports bike celebrating the Italian manufacturer’s racing legacy at the Australian circuit. Unveiled ahead of EICMA 2026, the special release arrives as the Australian circuit is set to leave the MotoGP calendar after the 2026 season.

Collector Appeal Spikes Before EICMA 2026 Showcase

  • Collector appeal for the RS 660 Phillip Island Tribute spikes as Aprilia prepares to showcase the motorcycle at EICMA 2026 in Milan, Italy.
  • Pricing and production numbers remain unannounced by Aprilia, leaving prospective buyers waiting for official market allocation details.
  • Mechanical specifications remain identical to the standard RS 660, maintaining its stock performance valuation for track-day enthusiasts.

An Italian Farewell to a Historic Australian Circuit

Nestled 78 miles off the coast of Melbourne, the Phillip Island Circuit has hosted world-class motorcycle racing for nearly three decades. That era is drawing to a close as weather conditions and modernisation requirements prompt MotoGP to relocate. Although the final Grand Prix scheduled at the venue was cancelled due to weather and visibility issues, autoevolution reported that Italian manufacturer Aprilia chose the week preceding the event to unveil a commemorative edition of its popular sports bike.

The motorcycle carries deep historical ties to the circuit. Over the years, Aprilia Racing has secured ten victories across various classes of the MotoGP World Championship at Phillip Island, alongside successes in the Superbike World Championship. Rider Raúl Fernández drove the RS-GP to victory at the circuit in 2025, marking Aprilia's 300th win in the World Motorcycle Championship and cementing the brand as the most successful European manufacturer in the history of the event, according to BikeAdvice.

Exclusive Color Scheme Features Phillip Island Circuit Layout

The Aprilia RS 660 Phillip Island Tribute translates this track history onto its bodywork through an exclusive color scheme. Built on a white base, the machine features green accents on the sides and tail section, paired with red wheel rims. Side panels display the circuit’s layout, the inscription “Phillip Island Circuit,” and a checkered flag motif near the finish line.

Additional custom elements distinguish the tribute edition from production models. A badge on the fuel tank displays the exact number of victories Aprilia secured at the circuit, while a unique serial number is inscribed on the steering head plate. A passenger seat cover comes included as standard equipment to complete the racing aesthetic, as detailed by Livemint.

Standard 660cc Engine Retains 105 Horsepower

Beneath the commemorative livery, the mechanical package remains unchanged from the standard platform. The motorcycle utilizes a front-mounted 660cc four-valve parallel-twin engine that functions as a load-bearing, stressed member of the aluminum frame. The powerplant generates 105 horsepower at 10,400 rpm and 70 Nm of torque at 8,400 rpm, paired with a six-speed gearbox featuring a bidirectional electronic quickshifter.

Electronic rider aids rely on a six-axis inertial platform running Aprilia’s aPRC suite. Equipment includes adjustable traction control, wheelie control, engine braking control, cornering ABS, engine mapping via Ride-by-Wire, launch control, and cruise control. Both full-power variants and restricted 35 kW versions are configured for international markets.
