On September 30, 2023, Archduke Alexander of Habsburg-Lorraine, son of Archduke Carl Christian of Austria and Princess Marie-Astrid of Luxembourg, married Natacha Roumiantzeff-Pachkevitch in Belgium. The Grand Ducal family was present in large numbers to celebrate this marriage. Grand Duke Henri was able to reunite with his brothers, sisters, children and nephews in Beloeil.

Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg attended the wedding of one of his nephews this Saturday, September 30, 2023. Archduke Alexander of Habsburg-Lorraine, one of the five children of his sister, Princess Marie-Astrid, married the Countess Natacha Roumiantzeff-Pachkevitch at the Saint-Pierre church in Beloeil, in Hainaut, Belgium. The church is located next to the Château de Beloeil, stronghold of the Ligne family. The wedding took place a week after the funeral of Princess Yolande de Ligne, wife of Archduke Charles-Louis, grandparents of the groom.

The heir couple of Luxembourg present at the wedding of Archduke Alexander
Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg was surrounded by his wife, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa, and their children to experience this great family moment. All eyes were on Princess Alexandra, the only daughter of the grand ducal couple’s five children, who was the last to marry. Princess Alexandra was present at her cousin’s wedding, accompanied by her young husband, Nicolas Bagory. This wedding reminded them of wonderful moments experienced just a few months ago, last April.

The heir couple was also present to congratulate the young lovers. Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume and Hereditary Grand Duchess Stéphanie were radiant. Stephanie wore a bright orange dress. Prince Louis, third child of the grand ducal couple, was happy to find his cousins, in particular Prince Josef-Emanuel of Liechtenstein, son of his aunt Margaretha.

The children of the Grand Ducal couple and the siblings of the Luxembourg sovereign reunited in Beloeil
In March 2022, Prince Louis and several members of the grand ducal family traveled to Colombia to attend the wedding of Prince Josef-Emanuel. Prince Louis also posed this Saturday with Prince Henri de Bourbon-Parma, husband of Archduchess Gabriella, sister of the groom. Prince Henri is also a cousin of the family, being the grandson of Princess Marie-Gabrielle of Luxembourg, aunt of Grand Duke Henri and therefore great-aunt of Louis.

Prince Sébastien and Prince Félix, second and fifth children of the grand ducal couple, were seen not far from their uncles. Prince Jean of Luxembourg, brother of the sovereign, was accompanied by his wife Diane. Prince Guillaume, the youngest brother of the head of state, was present at the wedding with his wife, Princess Sibilla.

Archduke Alexander, who celebrated his 33rd birthday four days ago, is the last of four children of Archduke Carl Christian and Princess Marie-Astrid of Luxembourg. Her older sister, Archduchess Marie-Christine, 40, married Count Rodolphe de Limburg Stirum in 2008. Her brother, Archduke Imre, 37, married Kathleen Walker in 2012. Her second brother, Archduke Christoph, 35, married Adélaïde Drapé-Frisch in 2012. As for his younger sister, Archduchess Gabriella, 29, she has been the wife of Prince Henri de Bourbon-Parma since 2020. The four siblings are also already all parents.

The young bride, Natacha Roumiantzeff-Pachkevitch, daughter of Nicolas Pierre Roumiantzeff-Pachkevitch and Maria Meeuwissen, is also the granddaughter of Nicolas Roumiantzoff, war hero in the Foreign Legion who received multiple French awards. He obtained the rank of general in 1962, was a grand officer of the Legion of Honor and Companion of the Liberation.
