A young woman and a young man who were both battling cancer found love at the hospital.
Antoine, 17, was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in 2011.
While he spends most of his time in his room watching movies, he sees Stéphanie in the corridors of the Sainte-Justine hospital center.
“I saw her walking in the corridors. Then it is precisely that, I wanted to leave my room more often, ”he says.
In 2012, 16-year-old Stephanie was admitted to hospital. He was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
“From the height of my 16 years, I found that he lacked a little color … He had been here for a year in chemotherapy, after almost 11 months of hospitalization”, she explains.
But for Antoine, the meeting looks like love at first sight.
“I found her very pretty. I still remember that she had her little headband on: she had no hair at that time, but she had her little headband on,” he recalls.
Now cured, the couple got married in July and are even expecting a child.
“We are expecting a baby boy. We are expecting our little Edouard for December 25th. So, it really is a miracle baby, as you can say.
