The Mobile World Congress of Barcelona in 2022 has already started. Although the doors of the Fira will not open wide until tomorrow, the technology companies have already begun to show some of their new devices within the framework of the fair. That is the case, among others, of Samsung. Just a few weeks after showing off its brand new Galaxy S22 Ultra, the South Korean has shared its new bet in the laptop market: the Galaxy Book2 Pro y Pro 360, which will hit store shelves next April. They are designed, specifically, for all those who are looking for a light, safe computer that offers great performance. Although the first, in principle, seems more focused on teleworking and content consumption, while the second seeks to attract the attention of more professional profiles.

Both the Book2 Pro and the Pro 360 -which is able to fold on itself, to end up becoming a kind of hybrid between laptop and tablet- they have versions with screens of 13.3 inches and 15.6 each. The panels are of the AMOLED type, improve the brightness of the predecessors within the family by 33%, and are accompanied by speakers in charge of Dolby Atmos, which allows the user to have an improved user experience.

In addition, inside, they incorporate the recent 12th Generation Intel Core processors, which guarantees, on paper, a great fluidity in the use of the devices, as well as good performance. Specifically, Samsung claims that this makes the computers 1.7 times faster than the ones it launched in the previous generation. In addition, they come with a new silent mode cooling system that keeps them at the correct temperature even when the user is squeezing them; or, at least, that is what they promise from the technology.

The built-in cameras, those that have become so important thanks to video calls and conferences in times of pandemic, also improve, reaching 1080p. In addition, improvements are added to the sound, and others aimed at making the image captured by the front lens the best possible; among them, the ability to keep the user focused even when he is moving.

Samsung says that it has taken great care to make its new computers truly secure and, at the same time, easy to transport. Precisely, the mobility they offer is one of the aspects that has most caught our attention at ABC during the few minutes that we have been messing with them.

The Book2 Pro, in its version with a 13.3-inch screen, barely weighs 0.87 kilos and when it is being used, its lightness is noticeable and, at the same time, appreciated. The 360 model is somewhat heavier, which is also more complicated to manipulate when folding it so that, in the end, it rests just like a tablet, with the physical keyboard completely hidden.

the laptops They have WiFi 6E and 5G connectivity, which makes it possible to improve the browsing experience, especially for all those who are still working remotely from their living room, which is precisely the profile that may be of greatest interest to them. Especially the Book2 Pro. The 360 model, on the other hand, is more focused on those people who are dedicated to art or design and need a device that suits their needs. Not for nothing, this (and only this) is compatible with Samsung’s stylus, the SPen.

Security and compatibility

Regarding the battery, Samsung affirms that it has been very careful to avoid that users have to have their laptops connected every two times three. The company promises that they are capable of reproducing up to 21 hours of video when fully charged. Thanks to a 65W cable, the device is also capable of reaching a sufficient charge to work after spending just 30 minutes plugged in. Regarding the charger, it is a USB-C type, so users who already have a Galaxy smartphone or tablet can use the ones they already have for it.

The company has also taken great care to ensure that the new laptops are secure. To do this, they have introduced an enterprise security solution in which they have collaborated with Microsoft to ensure that both the hardware and the software of the computers are optimized to offer the best possible level of protection against cyber attacks.

The computers also come with the ‘Private share’ functionality, which allows you to share private information, such as identity documents or images, for a limited time. It is also possible to revoke access to this data after sharing it at any time. In addition, work has been done to ensure that the rest of the Galaxy devices improve their interconnectivity and interoperability.

In this way, one of the recent Tab S8 tablets from the South Korean firm can be used as a second screen for the new laptops if desired. It is also possible to use the keyboard and the mouse to control the tablet or another family ‘gadget’.

As for pricing, Samsung says the Book2 Pro will start at $749.99; while the Pro 360 will start at 899.99. At the moment, it is unknown how much it will be in euros.
