Around 300 migrants rescued in the last three days

The Turkish Coast Guard has successfully rescued around 300 migrants attempting to cross the Aegean Sea towards Greece over the past three days.

Vienna (OTS) – According to the Turkish Coast Guard Command, these migrants were rescued at the last minute after being pushed back by the Greek Coast Guard.

The following statements were published on the Coast Guard website:

On June 30, July 1 and July 2, about 300 irregular migrants pushed back by Greece were rescued off the coasts of İzmir, Muğla, Antalya, Balıkesir and Çanakkale.

In addition, four migrant smugglers were arrested by Turkish security forces after the pushbacks in Antalya and Muğla.
