An 11-year-old girl was raped by her father, who threatened her if she reported the crime, according to the director of the Investigative, Scientific, Criminal and Criminalistics Corps (Cicpc), Douglas Rico.
The incident occurred in Caricuao, in Caracas, where the security forces detained the suspect.
Police investigations determined that the victim’s father abused the minor on several occasions, after which he proceeded to threaten her at any word that would give him away.
The complaint was made by the mother, who with the “urgency that the case requires” went to the police, Rico said.
The age of the accused is 41 years, specified official information.
The case has already been made available to the Public Ministry (MP), the entity in charge of verifying the charges and indicting the accused.
