Atanasio Girardot state of the grass after the Maluma concert | Colombian Soccer | Betplay League

This Thursday the state of the grass of the Athanasius Girardot, a day after Maluma’s concert. Unfortunately the balance is not good.

The journalists Camilo Andrés Botero and Julián Céspedes published convincing images on social networks of how the pitch was affected in the face of the final stretch of the BetPlay League 2022-I and the Women’s League 2022.

In the photos you can see that the central part is the most damaged, because that is where the stage was located. Precisely the supports of the platform were marked on the grass and even the unevenness can be seen.

Likewise, Céspedes indicated on his Twitter account that in other areas the grass was burned because, according to those in charge of its care, some people urinated. In this sense, these sectors will not be painted but will wait for their “natural recovery”.

On the other hand, Cristian Sánchez, manager of INDER Medellín, assured the media that before organizing the concert, a plan was made to avoid the deterioration of the field.

Once the platform was removed, the steps were as follows: “a process of care, aeration, irrigation, fertilizers, fungicides that allow us to monitor it so that it recovers the green color of the part that was not affected begins.” He added that it was a “natural process.”

Despite the justifications, it is clear that the Atanasio field is not suitable for professional football and that is the problem.

Medellín-FI played at the Atanasio this Thursday and sealed their qualification for the finals of the women’s tournament. The women are joined by the two men’s teams in the city: DIM and Nacional, who are also guaranteed their presence in the home runs.

The foregoing means that the three teams from the capital of Antioquia will have to play the decisive phases of their respective championship with a regular schedule. Situation that of course can affect them in their performance.
