Los ATEN teachers will define today in plenary session if they toughen the conflict with the government of Rolando Figueroa and implement actions about the routes in the run-up to Holy Week.
The union held meetings yesterday in its 22 sections and the Irreversible trend is to continue the strike for another 72 hours, on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. What is in doubt is what activities they will carry out during the days of the strike, since some motions proposed continuing with mobilizations while others are betting on take the claim to the routes.
«The 72 hours come out with absolute clarity»recognized yesterday the general secretary of Capital, Angélica Lagunas, who highlighted the results obtained in Neuquén, Plottier, Centenario, Cutral Co and Junín de los Andes, among other sections.
The assemblies did not show a decrease in participation, as the government expects, but, on the contrary, They continue to be more numerous than those who rejected the first offer from the government, on March 5.
In the capital, for example, yesterday more than 2,800 assembly members participated, of which 2,641 were in favor of a 72-hour strike and 172 were in favor of a 48-hour strike. At the beginning of the month, attendance had been 1,500 teachers in total.
Also in Plottier there was a wide participation, with 540 assembly members, of which 500 voted for these forceful measures. In the first assembly, the one that rejected the offer without CPI that the Executive put on the table, there had been 165.
The trend was also repeated in Centenario, where there were about 400 participants, double the number at the beginning of the conflict.
The plenary session of general secretaries will unify the mandates this Friday from 10 in Cutral Co.
ATEN’s claim is for The government reopens the negotiation table that Figueroa closed by granting them, via decree, the last offer that had been rejected by the union. The Minister of Education, Soledad Martínez, said that it was “the last proposal that the province could make” and assured that the days will be discounted for teachers who continue to adhere to the strike. The salary guideline establishes CPI updates for the period February 2024-January 2025 payable in April, July, October and January.
Also a bonus of 100,000 pesos per position, another sum of 125,000 pesos to be paid in April, in addition to adjustments in seniority and the percentages paid by unfavorable and very unfavorable areas.
