Share prices registered a slight retreat in today’s (22.3.2024) Stock Exchange session. Investors proceeded with soft liquidations to record short-term profits.
In the two previous sessions of the Stock Exchange, the market had recorded a total gain of 1.92%. Due to the high capitalization, the shares of EYDAP and ELPE outperformed.
The General Price Index closed at 1,425.16 points, down 0.36%. Intra-sessionally it recorded a lower price at 1,423.75 points (-0.46%).
The main Stock Market index, on a weekly basis, registered a slight increase of 0.22%, while since the beginning of the year it has recorded gains of 10.21%.
The value of the transactions fell below the levels of 100 million euros and amounted to 95.75 million euros, while 22,880,020 shares were traded.
The large-cap index fell 0.57%, while the mid-cap index fell 0.51%.
Of the high capitalization shares, the biggest increase was recorded by the shares of EYDAP (+7.25%), ELPE (+3.28%), Elvalhalcor (+2.72%), Sarantis (+2.42 %) and Viohalco (+1.08%).
On the contrary, the biggest fall was recorded by the shares of Alpha Bank (-1.88%), Piraeus (-1.76%), Terna Energy (-1.45%), Jumbo (-1.44%), of PPA (-1.42%) and Mytileneos (-1.25%).
Piraeus and Eurobank presented the largest volume of transactions, trading 6,679,278 and 3,581,164 shares, respectively.
The highest transaction value was recorded by Piraeus with 26.15 million euros and National with 7.29 million euros.
54 stocks moved up, 60 fell and 12 remained stable. The biggest increase was recorded by the shares: EYDPA +7.25% and Centric +4.86%. The biggest drop was recorded by the shares: Chaidemenos -9.55% and Q&R -6.09%.
