Atletico Madrid fans sent a fiery message to Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo, Manchester United striker, in light of press reports that he could join the team, during the current summer transfer market.
Atlético Madrid fans raised a banner during the team’s current friendly match against Numancia, reading: “CR7 is not welcome.”
Ronaldo told Manchester United officials that he wanted to leave the team during the current summer Mercato, after the team failed to qualify for the Champions League next season.
And Enrique Cerezo, president of the Spanish club Atlético de Madrid, had confirmed that the Portuguese star, Cristiano Ronaldo, player of Manchester United, to join the ranks of Roji Blancos during the current summer transfer period is an impossible process.
“I don’t know who invented the story of Cristiano Ronaldo joining Atletico Madrid,” Cerezo said in statements to Spanish media, adding, “It is practically impossible for him to come to Atletico Madrid.”
Ronaldo returned to Manchester United from Juventus last summer for 15 million euros with a contract that ends in June 2023, and last season Ronaldo participated in 38 games with Manchester United, 3131 minutes, in which he scored 24 goals and made 3 others.
