ATX 3.0 et certification 80+ Titanium

High-end power supplies, guaranteed for ten years, which have PCIe 5.0 connectors (12VHPWR) to power next-generation graphics (GeForce RTX 4000).

be quiet! presents its first range of fully ATX 3.0 compatible power supplies: the Dark Power 13. Composed of three models of 750, 850 and 1000 watts, the Dark Power 13 directly replace their predecessors, the Dark Power 12. All models feature full ATX 3.0 support (16-pin 12VHPWR cable, PCIe 5.0) and are 80 Plus Titanium certified (equivalent to up to 95.8% efficiency).

The brand also highlights “an overclocking key, which combines the four 12 V rails into a single rail with higher output power, ideal for overclocked processors or graphics cards”.

Full support for ATX 3.0 standard

The Dark Power 13 therefore adopts the ATX 3.0 standard, which respects the power characteristics defined by PCI Express 5.0. be quiet! explains: “Unlike the ATX 2.X standard, which supports high voltage peaks but does not set a maximum above the power supply rating, ATX 3.0 sets clear target values. Specifically, the PCIe connection for the graphics card must allow voltage variations up to three times the power consumption. »

In addition, ATX 3.0 power supplies of 450 watts or more also require a new 12VHPWR connector, capable of delivering significantly more power. All Dark Power 13 models support up to 600 watts of power on the 12VHPWR connector, while offering four traditional PCIe 6+2 slots “for full graphics card compatibility”.

let’s remember that only the GeForce RTX 4000 use the ATX 3.0 standard for the moment. The Radeon RX 7900 XTX / XT d’AMD remain on the classic 8 and 6 pins.

80 Plus Titanium

In addition to the Titanium 80 Plus certification, these Dark Power 13s benefit from the “Active Rectifier + Full Bridge LLC + SR + DC-DC” topology and an internal wireless design on the DC side. The power supplies incorporate long-life Japanese 105°C capacitors.

Furthermore, be quiet! utilizes a new frameless fan for the Dark Power 13 range. The 135mm Silent Wings sit directly under an all-mesh faceplate with a redesigned funnel-shaped opening. Result: “Optimal air circulation, guaranteeing optimal cooling of the components, even under extreme load”.

Finally, about the overclocking key mentioned at the beginning of the article, it “allows the user to switch the power supply from multi-rail mode to monorail mode by simply pressing a button, thus increasing the stability of the power supply in extreme overclocking situations”.

The enclosures are made of steel and supplied with a complete set of modular, sheathed and black cables. be quiet! matches the Dark Power 13 backed by a 10-year manufacturer’s warranty. The power supplies will be available from January 24 at suggested retail prices of 294.90 euros (1000 W), 259.90 euros (850 W) and 214.90 euros (750 W).
