Ayelen Mazzinathe Minister for Women, Gender and Diversity, came out this Saturday at the crossroads of the controversial statements made last night by the head of the General Audit Office of the Nation, Miguel Angel Pichettoquestioning the place that the Albertista official occupies due to her status as “lesbian”noting that the government “He could have put a woman in that role.”.
On his official Twitter account, Mazzina wrote this morning: “I am a woman, lesbian, feminist and Minister of Women, Gender and Diversity of the Nation and I invite Pichetto to talk about ESI [Educación Sexual Integral] when you think you feel ready.

In addition, the member of the national Cabinet added to her post a meme that is usually used to express amazement or surprise, adding in relation to that image: “Meanwhile, the lesbians watching Pichetto say that we are not women.” In this regard, in the comments there were those who questioned Mazzina for using precisely that childish meme in the gender debate with Pichetto:

The statements of the former PJ senator and former vice candidate for Mauricio Macri in the 2019 elections had been in an interview with Jonatan Viale, in La Nación+. There Pichetto alluded to Mazzina pointing out that “the The Ministry of Women is in the hands of a girl who is lesbian, they could have put a woman”. That phrase had followed other statements by the head of the AGN, in which he had stressed that he believes “in individual freedom and the right to happiness.”
Pichetto was referring to Mazzina when asked by Viale in reference to the silent role that fulfilled the portfolio of Women and feminism in general around the horrific ordeal experienced by Lucio Dupuy in La Pampa. As is known, The baby’s mother, Magdalena Espósito Valenti and her partner Abigaíl Páez were sentenced this Thursday to life imprisonment, and they even participated by taking the boy to meetings of the movement feminist. Finally the plot of torture, beatings and even sexual abuse to which the little boy was subjected, before being beaten to death in a case of savagery that is hard to even imagine, and before which most feminist sectors chose silence.
After these statements, and when the issue escalated on networks last night, Pichetto defended himself via Twitter. “Given the misrepresentation of my statements in a television program, I want to clarify that my intention was to denounce that the Ministry of Women did not repudiate the murder of Lucio Dupuy because the sexual orientation of the minister coincided with those of the perpetrators of the crime”he brandished in a first message.
Under that tweet, he added: “I am in favor of the exercise of freedom by each person regarding their decisions. It goes without saying that throughout my political career and mainly in the Senate, I voted in favor of all the comparisons of rights that concern said personal freedom”.
Lastly, the Auditor General of the Nation shared his speech when he voted for the equal marriage law, 13 years ago. “To these ends I attach my closing speech when I voted for equal marriage on the Senate floor, when we signed it into law in 2010,” Pichetto wrote along with the link to the YouTube video.
Already this Saturday, Mazzina’s response arrived, and opinions around that debate on social networks multiplied, with opinions on each side of the crack, in this case referring to gender issues.
