In 2012, 33-year-old Maria Alyokhina was sentenced to two years in prison for making a proposal against Vladimir Putin at the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow, together with her punk band Pussy Riot.

Since then, she has been in the sights of the Kremlin and, since last summer, she has been imprisoned six other times: always for 15 days and on false charges.

However, everything changed when, in April, the authorities announced that his house arrest would become a penal colony in 21 days. It was then that he decided to run away to protect his freedom.

Disguised as a food delivery girl, she evaded the Moscow Police and even left her phone to avoid being tracked. Then, a friend of hers took her to the border with Belarus, and after a week, she was able to cross into Lithuania, where she remains under protection.
