‘Back to the Books’ Jang Dong-gun visits Dominic Cannon, a bookstore in heaven “The cafe is also pious”

Donggun Jang introduced Dominicanon Bookstore, a bookstore in heaven.

In TV Chosun’s ‘Jang Dong-gun’s Back to the Books’ season 2 (hereinafter ‘Back to the Books’) broadcast on the 20th, Jang Dong-gun visited Dominicannon’s bookstore. Dominicanen Bookstore is a bookstore located in Maastricht, a small town with a population of 120,000 in the Netherlands. Maastricht is a medieval city and has a well-preserved Catholic culture.

What makes the Dominican Bookstore special is its gothic building. The gothic building was built over 700 years ago as a Dominican monastery. Even before the bookstore opened, the building was a cultural asset.

Then, in 2004, the Dominicanan Bookstore opened. Dominicanen Bookstore is the only bookstore whose entire building is a cultural asset.

In the center of the bookstore, a cross-shaped table is placed on the former cutting edge, and a cafe is running. Jang Dong-gun said, “Rather than the comfort felt in a cafe, I feel reverent and sublime.”
