Mohamed Barakat, a member of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Football Association, talked about the loss of Al-Ahly club to the final of the African Champions League against Moroccan Wydad in the match that was held at the Mohammed V complex stadium in Casablanca.
During his speech on Al-Mehwar channel, Barakat said: “There are people who are arrogant about the issue after Al-Ahly lost Africa, and they are trying to portray that Al-Ahly is in a state of collapse… in palaces? He added, “Congratulations to Wydad and its fans, and we hope that they represent Africa in an honorable way in the Club World Cup, but when I talk about Al-Ahly club, I do not see the technical value of Al-Ahly players and Wydad Al-Ahly players are not technically comparable to any team in Africa.”
He continued: “Al-Ahly played and lost, but we all know the scenes, starting with what happened from the African Union, which we congratulate, because he was tired and worked hard because the tournament remains friendly or Moroccan. They worked hard, and may God punish them for their fatigue.”
Muhammad Barakat concluded his speech: “The atmosphere and circumstances from the first statements and leaks, and from the first thing that was said that the match will be played in Morocco and in a Moroccan side in the final, and the problems that happen to anyone, and people enter the stadium and prevent members of the board of directors, and I said that we will be surprised in a completely different situation from the one that is said.”
