RB Leipzig must show the best version of itself on Tuesday evening if it has a chance to qualify for the quarter-finals of the Champions League, coach Marco Rose thinks. The Germans visit Manchester City and have to deal with a battered selection.
,,We want to put a little more pressure when we defend, which means that we will have more ball possession. But once we have the ball, we also have to show a little more responsibility,” said Rose.
“If we just put pressure, there will be room for them, but if we only defend and don’t attack, we will also collapse at some point. We have to find the right balance. We need a lot of confidence and courage and we will have to play our best game of the season.”
Last month, the first game in Germany ended in 1-1.
Rose only has seventeen field players at his disposal in Manchester. Christopher Nkunku and Xaver Schlager, among others, are missing. Dani Olmo can probably come into action after an absence of several weeks. “He is still recovering, but he will definitely play a part, for 25 minutes or half an hour,” said Rose.
