The Indonesian National Amil Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) has distributed humanitarian aid to Palestine amounting to IDR 43,185,512,869, of which IDR 27,887,250,071 is via Egypt, which is a mandate from the Indonesian people.
Chairman of BAZNAS RI, Noor Achmad, MA., came directly with the Main Secretary of BAZNAS RI, Dr. Muchlis M Hanafi, MA., Head of BAZNAS RI for National Coordination, KH. Ahmad Sudrajat, Lc, MA., the Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC) team, and the Indonesian Embassy in Cairo to deliver aid from Cairo to check point 1 in Sinai, Egypt.
In his statement in Egypt, Sunday (7/4/2024), Chairman of BAZNAS RI, Noor Achmad, MA., said that BAZNAS will continue to strive to channel aid from the Indonesian people to Gaza, Palestine.
“Thank God, we can still distribute aid and yesterday we checked at several warehouses, especially the ERC (Egytian Red Crescent) warehouse, there were BAZNAS bags placed there,” said Kiai Noor.
Kiai Noor explained that although some assistance was rejected from other places, assistance from BAZNAS was not rejected.
“All of our aid can come in, except for aid that contains steel, contains aluminum, contains iron, contains plastic, including the container boxes that we use to store basic necessities, they are not allowed to enter, only cardboard containers can enter, but the contents are Everyone can enter,” he explained.

Kiai Noor added that tents also cannot be entered because they contain iron elements. Kiai Noor admitted that he saw goods piled up from several countries, some even worth billions, including medical equipment, which could not be entered.
“This is due to Israeli control, due to Israel’s strict security in selecting incoming goods, even army green is not allowed to enter in any form, whether it is clothing or items that are green are not allowed to enter because it is considered an army color. he said.
Kiai Noor emphasized that the ban was carried out by the Israeli authorities. The BAZNAS team had time to reach North Sinai, but because there was very tight security towards Rafah, the team decided to return again for safety reasons. ERC also cannot guarantee that the team will break through to Rafah.

“Thank God, we were able to return to Cairo even though we were in very tiring conditions because when we left there were eleven inspections, from Cairo to North Sinai it took almost 7 hours because of the strict inspections carried out by the Egyptian authorities before arriving at Sinai itself,” he explained.
Kiai Noor expressed his gratitude to all the teams who have worked hard so far. In Egypt, Kiai Noor emphasized that BAZNAS RI will continue to help our brothers and sisters in Palestine because they still really need it.
“We now realize why there are still so many (aid) trucks queuing in Sinai because the Israeli authorities are very restrictive, so the need from Palestine is at least 500 trucks, but up to now there are still between 150 trucks that can enter and that’s what we watch,” he explained.
So far, BAZNAS has distributed aid from the Indonesian people nine times with details of 51.5 tons on November 4 2023, 21.7 tons on November 20 2023, 60 tons on January 14 2024, 6 container trucks on December 4 2023.
Then 10 container trucks on December 18 2023, 3 container trucks on December 28 2023, and 14 container trucks on February 19. Meanwhile, two other shipments of 25 container trucks and 15 container trucks are still being prepared. (Z-8)
