Belgium Weather Forecast: Sunny and Warm with Northeast Breeze

2023-06-04 13:27:15

The anticyclone which now extends from the north of Scotland to Belarus and the north of Ukraine via the south of Scandinavia maintains a fresh north-easterly current on our coast but more and more mild or even quite hot in the interior of the country.

In these conditions of continental dry air, the sky will remain very blue this Sunday with pleasant daytime temperatures between 24 and 26º in the interior of the country except on the Ardennes heights where they will show 21 to 23º and on the side of the region coast where the cool sea breeze will keep temperatures between 16 and 18º.

The northeast wind will be sensitive with generally peaks of 35 to 45 km / h but reaching 45 to 55 km / h in West Flanders.

At night the sky will remain clear and starry which will bring us a strong freshness in the Ardennes with minimums between 2 and 10º while elsewhere the values will rather show 10 to 13º.

Monday to Wednesday:

The general atmospheric situation on the continent and the near ocean will not change much, which will give us approximately the same weather scenario over the country.

June 5

A few banks of low clouds from off the North Sea may however temporarily affect the coast but elsewhere the weather will remain sunny with a few small decorative cumulus clouds in the sky during the day.

June 6

We will still be able to gain locally one or two degrees with, depending on the altitude of the regions, maximums between 22 and 29º in the interior of the country but remaining blocked at 16 to 17º near the sea where a fairly unpleasant breeze will always blow from north to northeast with peaks of around 50-55 km/h.

June 7

Thursday and Friday :

As the anticyclone over northern Europe will slowly shift eastward with a main center over northern Scandinavia, the northeasterly flow will tend to gradually shift eastward which will bring us continental air that is still very dry but warmer from central Europe.

June 8

Good weather guaranteed, but becoming increasingly hot with maximum temperatures that will even locally exceed the 30º mark in the interior of the country. This will certainly be the case in Campine and Gaume, as well as in the country’s major cities. Elsewhere we will note values generally between 27 and 30º but the northeast breeze will limit the rise in temperatures between 22 and 27º in the coastal region.

Evolution for the following weekend:

A small stormy depression will develop over the southern half of France but its effects should (not yet) affect the south of the country.

The east wind will keep the air warm to very hot in our regions with temperatures that will fluctuate in the afternoon between 25 and 32º depending on the altitude and the proximity of the sea where the northeast wind will be much less noticeable than the previous days.

Probable trend for the following week:

The forecast ensemble model envisages the arrival of a stormy zone over the country from Tuesday, June 13, but this evolution must be confirmed.

This would give increasingly heavy weather with first still daytime temperatures of around 25 to 30º but also a growing risk of stormy phenomena which will cool the atmosphere with maximums returning between 20 and 25º.
